Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (B.S.C.) was established in 1975 with Bahraini and Kuwaiti shareholders. By virtue of its shareholding structure, BKIC is allowed to operate as a national insurance company both in Bahrain and Kuwait, the only company to enjoy such a privilege. The current paid up capital of the company is BD 7,150,000 and the number of shareholders is nearly 3,800. Gulf Insurance Company K.S.C, a listed entity registered and incorporated in the state of Kuwait, is the majority shareholder of the company, with 56.12% ownership of the shares.
