Together the two cities are the Italian Capital of Culture 2023, a wide-ranging project with hundreds of initiatives: squares, streets and the temples of art and culture are the stage for festivals, events, exhibitions, and spectacular shows all over the year. The project highlights both the major places of interest in the area and its hidden treasures: two UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the Roman Area and the Santa Giulia Complex in Brescia and the ancient part of Bergamo, Citta Alta, with its Venetian Walls -, museums and galleries, theatres, fortresses and many natural paths and itineraries.
