The Global Shea Alliance (GSA) is a non-profit industry association founded in 2011, based in Accra, Ghana. It promotes sustainability, quality standards, and demand for shea in food and cosmetics through public-private partnerships. The GSA serves over 849 members from 36 countries, including women's groups, brands, retailers, suppliers, and NGOs. Its unique selling proposition is enhancing the livelihoods of rural African women by improving industry competitiveness and advocating for international market access. The GSA offers training, advocacy, and market facilitation services, targeting rural women and global shea industry stakeholders.
