Founded in 1746, Banque Marcuard subsequently grew to become one of the most important finance houses in Europe. After the Napoleonic wars, it continued to play a significant role in the industrial development of modern Switzerland and remained one of the most important private banks until being acquired by Credit Suisse in the early 20th century. In 2003, Adrian Guldener and Sinan Bodmer, in partnership with Hansjoerg Rudloff, established the wealth management companies Marcuard Heritage AG in Zurich, Marcuard Heritage Ltd. in Limassol and thereof additionally a representative office in Moscow. In 2008, the wealth planning firm Marcuard Trust AG was established in conjunction with Kay Hofmann. The two Swiss entities, Marcuard Heritage AG and Marcuard Trust AG, merged in September 2013.
