Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation of Canada (the"Bank") is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ("SMBC") and is duly organized under the laws of Canada. The Bank was incorporated in 1982, under the name of Mitsui Bank of Canada. From April 1st, 2001, at the same time that the newly formed SMBC initiated its activities, as a result of the merger between Sakura Bank, Limited and Sumitomo Bank, Limited the Canadian subsidiary initiated activities under the new name, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation of Canada.
