More than 300 ethnic groups make Indonesias unique cultures, geography, and history, with two thirds of the population reside in Java, one of 17,000 islands in the archipelago. Around 9.4% of the population lived below the national poverty line (ADB 2019). The countrys real GDP growth remained broadly stable at 5.1 percent during the first quarter of 2019. Despite global volatility, Indonesias economy has grown at a consistent pace with quarterly GDP growth remaining between 4.9 to 5.3 percent over the past 3 years (World Bank). The country's top three products include oil and natural gas, coal, and tin for mineral resources; rice, palm oil, and coffee for agricultural products; and processed rubber, plywood, and textiles for manufactured products.
