Tradewinds Credit Union was founded in 1956 by Sheet Metal Workers and was named Local 410 Credit Union. In 1961 the Credit Union expanded to include all of the union construction trades and the name was changed to Grand Rapids Building and Construction Trades Council Credit Union. The Credit Union name was changed again in 1966 to GR Building Trades Credit Union. As we have grown since in our founding 1956, weAove evolved. Our new name better reflects who we are today and the people we serve.
